That’s why I often blend French and Swiss lace in my custom units, combining the natural look of Swiss lace with the strength and longevity of French lace to give you a beautiful, reliable solution for everyday wear.

Unlike fashion wigs, cranial prostheses are constructed from specialized materials that ensure optimal comfort, breathability, and a secure fit, making them ideal for sensitive or exposed scalps. Each unit is meticulously crafted to achieve a natural appearance, often replicating the individual’s original hairstyle, color, and texture, to restore both confidence and a sense of normalcy.

Why Choose Human Hair Over Synthetic?

Human hair is best when someone wants the ability to change the style of the unit. They can be curled, colored, highlighted, and permed, and last a long time if they are taken care of.

While synthetic hair is best in fashion colors or unique textures. It does not have to be restyled constantly, but it is a fiber, which is why it tends to show the lack of care or wear more quickly. It is more affordable and can still be cut or styled differently depending on the type of hair.

The second photo reveals the next step. Angie Boyd has carefully begun the process of attaching the hair to the lace base by hand. Using a meticulous combination of ventilation (knotting each strand), hand sewing, and precision placement, Angie ensures the topper is natural-looking, breathable, and secure. This process is part of her signature method for creating custom pieces that not only restore appearance, but comfort and confidence as well.
